Summary of the Project
These 23 homes have been built to demonstrate the advantage of modern methods of construction while achieving Lifetime Homes standards and Ecohomes “excellent” level of energy performance. Construction started in early 2006 and was completed in the summer of 2007.
This development was designed to be more energy efficient and
less resource intensive. This has in part been achieved by high levels of insulation and the installation of evacuated tube solar panels.
High efficiency condensing boilers , sealed heating systems and 190 litre pressurised solar cylinders are fitted in each property. The 20 tube solar panels provide a pre heat effect in the winter months and almost 100% of the hot water from March to September.
