H+H UK Ltd - 1000th Rå Build House
Supplier: H+H UK Ltd
Customer: Wates Living Space
Location: Berkshire
Summary of the Project

Wates Living Space for client A2-Dominion nears completion of the 1,000th house built using H+H's Ra Build method of construction, which reduces the cost of meeting the Code for Sustainable Homes.
£20,000 has been shaved off the cost of constructing the 28 houses and apartments to meet Code level 3 on the £3.5m Berkshire development where Minett Group is the specialist Rå Build contractor.
Rå Build creates the ground floors, exterior walls, upper floors and partitions as a labour-inclusive package, without any of the logistical problems associated with co-ordinating different trades for each stage of the build. The use of large-format lightweight aircrete and quick-setting thin-layer Celfix mortar enable full-storey heights to be built in a day.
Unlike most frame systems, the Rå Build method does not require any waiting time for settlement before applying the render or other finishes. In fact, the first-fix trades can start working inside whilst the external skin is still going up - therefore saving the valuable time and money.
