Fire Rated Mailboxes For Use In Multiple Occupancy High Rise Tower Block Developments

In multiple occupancy high rise tower block developments and vulnerable individual housing, it is strongly felt that the ‘Letterflap’ in individual doors is potentially a massive security and fire issue, and developers and councils have been encouraged to provide a communal post area of mailboxes to ensure maximum security for those living in each flat/ apartment.

This potentially eliminates the need for persons to gain access to the entire block and individual doors to have the ability to post through items.

In the demands for increased awareness and measures to reduce the spread and threat of fire, The Safety Letterbox Company Ltd, the UK's leading manufacturer and supplier of lockable mailbox systems and letterbox anti-arson solutions, produced a Fire Rated Range of mailboxes for use in buildings where fire rated products are required.

The Fire Rated mailboxes are a welcome addition to the range of over 120 models and have proved to be a very popular choice. Commonly used within high rise developments, where the communal delivery of mail is common and in properties of risk.

They can be housed on, in or through a wall and are 1 hour integrity only, but satisfy the specification of a fire officer. They are commonly used within fire rated walls and in fire corridors/ routes.

They are proven to be capable of satisfying the integrity performance of clause 8 of BS476 : part 2 ; 1987.

These lockable mailboxes are available in a wide choice of RAL colours and are manufactured in our factory in the UK.
